Volunteer Day Recap: Feb. 27'10

"Roads to the Bend" ~ 10am - 2pm

Friends, thanks for making it a record-setting day out at the Bend! 42 volunteers -- including some new faces! -- came out to the park to help get us to the point where we can begin cutting trails on our next volunteer day.

Five specific tasks were planned out (omigosh, were they planned out...): cut a short access road; install a gate; dig swales; clear a firebreak; and trim trees along the road to the 'diamond field' and around the field's perimeter.

With the projects finished in no time at all, we had the opportunity to take a hike along parts of the trail we'll be cutting on the March Volunteer Day.

Once again, Friends -- thanks, y'all for coming out and being a HUGE part of your Chattahoochee Bend State Park!
