Volunteer Day Recap: Jan 23 '10

"Prelude to the Trail" ~ 11:00 to 3:00

Friends, thanks for making it an incredible day out at the Bend (on a cold, damp winter's day)! More than 30 volunteers worked over 120 cumulative hours clearing and improving about two miles of roadway from the kiosk to the riverbend. That's the road we hiked in October '09.

An area in the northern field a little ways inland (and on higher ground) was cleared to serve as a staging area for future trail work.

There was also an impromptu meeting with DNR Law Enforcement Agents on patrol in the park. They were brought up to speed on the Friends' activities.

Once again, Friends -- thanks, y'all for coming out and being a HUGE part of your Chattahoochee Bend State Park!
